UN YDP
Latvijas ANO Jauniešu delegātu programma (ANO JDP) ikdienā strādā ar ANO ietvaru un Latvijas jauniešu viedokļu pārstāvniecību nacionālā un starptautiskā līmenī. ANO JDP komanda iegūst jauniešu viedokļus, organizējot nacionāla mēroga konferences, fokusgrupas u.c. formātus, tostarp dodoties skolu vizītēs visā Latvijā, kuru laikā jaunieši ne tikai tiek izglītoti par ANO un tās nozīmi, bet arī simulē ANO formātus – visbiežāk Drošības padomi.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The programme organises events, school visits and simulation games. Volunteers aged between 15 and 25 help to prepare news stories, organise events and collect young people's opinions. We work across the country using a hybrid format to achieve our objectives and ensure that young people are involved in global discussions and local events.
Ahead of the 2024 European Parliament elections, the UN YDP team, accompanied by a delegate, produced an EP Election Guide (http://ej.uz/epceļvedis).
Looking back at the 68th annual meeting of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, we discussed what was achieved at the Commission, what was left out, why it is important to talk about gender equality, including at the institutional level.
Together with the other Youth Delegates to the UN from the European Union, various UN and EU priorities were discussed, including the quality involvement of young people in UN formats.

SKILLS YOU WILL IMPROVE
The UN Youth Delegates Programme (UNYDP) works on a daily basis with the UN framework and the representation of Latvian youth at national and international level. The UNYP team collects young people's views through national conferences, focus groups and other formats, including school visits across Latvia, during which they not only educate young people about the UN and its role, but also simulate UN formats - most often the Security Council.
